Polling continues to show that President Trump is the clear favorite of Republican primary voters.
A Monmouth University poll released Tuesday shows President Trump leading the GOP primary field and beating Ron DeSantis in hypothetical head-to-head match-up.
The university's poll also found that Republicans believe President Trump is the "strongest candidate to beat" Joe Biden in 2024. Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, said in a statement, "If your main argument to Republican voters is that Trump wouldn’t be the party’s strongest nominee, you’ve got a heck of a challenge ahead of you."
An NBC poll released Tuesday similarly showed that 59 percent of Republicans think President Trump has the best chance of winning the 2024 general election.
The NBC poll found that Republican voters believe that President Trump would do a better job than Ron DeSantis handling the economy, foreign policy, immigration, and crime.
