While President Trump is the only presidential candidate calling for the death penalty for drug dealers, DeSantis is giving a pass to thieves.

Thanks to Ron DeSantis you can steal up to $750 worth of goods in Florida and not be a felon.

In 2019, Governor DeSantis signed HB 7125. This was a “criminal justice bill” that was celebrated by the “Alliance for Safety and Justice,” which is aSoros-affiliated group.

An executive with Alliance for Safety and Justice praised the bill in the Palm Beach Post, writing: “In the final days of June, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed HB 7125 into law. It marks a new, more effective approach to public safety by enacting justice reforms that align the priorities of crime victims, the safety of all Floridians and justice….It updates the dollar values related to property crime to match current day costs in determining the severity of an offense. This ensures people are still held accountable but eliminates outdated measures that lead to the excessive use of felonies and their resulting barriers.”

An analysis from the Florida House of Representatives noted, “The bill increases the threshold amount for third degree felony retail theft from $300 or more to $750 or more.“

The law that Ron DeSantis signed is very similar to Prop 47, a California ballot initiative that is heavily criticized by conservatives. Prop 47 increased the felony threshold for theft in California from $400 to $950. Crime is rampant in California, and the scenes in Miami this month show a crime wave is already crashing through Florida.
