Florida Governor Ron DeSantis doesn't think that the weaponization of our legal system is a "real issue."

During a press conference Monday, DeSantis was asked about Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's reported plan to abuse the legal system. "I've got real issues I got to deal with here in the state of Florida," DeSantis said. "We've got so many things pending in front of the legislature. I've got to spend my time on issues that actually matter to people."

Democrats abusing the justice system to target Republicans is a real issue that impacts all Americans. Our country won't survive if the courts are weaponized to imprison political opponents.

Donald Trump Jr. put it well in a tweet Monday: "So DeSantis thinks that Dems weaponizing the law to indict President Trump is a 'manufactured circus' & isn't a 'real issue.' Pure weakness. Now we know why he was silent all weekend. He's totally owned by Karl Rove, Paul Ryan & his billionaire donors. 100% Controlled Opposition."

Candace Owens was likewise dismayed by DeSantis' comments. "Anyone surprised by this? Been saying this forever: Desantis is a good Governor but he is establishment and will be a major disappointment to those who think otherwise," Owens tweeted.

DeSantis stands alone.  Republicans are rallying around President Trump:

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy: "Here we go again — an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against President Trump.   I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions."

Senator Rick Scott: "Speaker McCarthy is right, and I fully support his call for an investigation. No federal dollars should be used to prop up this radical, Soros-backed activist attorney or his gross political attacks."

Senator J.D. Vance: "I've been asked by multiple reporters if an indictment would lead me to rescind my endorsement of Donald Trump. The answer is: hell no. A politically motivated prosecution makes the argument for Trump stronger. We simply don't have a real country if justice depends on politics."

Senator Eric Schmitt: "Trump Derangement Syndrome does not provide legal cover.  The public rightfully expects prosecutors to carry out our responsibilities without political prejudice.  Indictments, investigations and incarceration to settle political scores shows a deep contempt for the rule of law."

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise: "The Manhattan DA refuses to prosecute violent criminals terrorizing citizens on the streets and instead wastes taxpayer money on a political vendetta against President Trump. No wonder hundreds of thousands escaped from New York!"

House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik: "What these corrupt leftist prosecutors like Alvin Bragg and their socialist allies fail to understand is that America First Patriots have never been so energized to exercise their constitutional rights to peacefully organize and vote at the ballot box to save our great republic."

Former Vice President Mike Pencetold Breitbart that this "reeks of the kind of political prosecution that we endured back in the days of the Russia hoax." Pence also told ABCthat an arrest of President Trump would be "a politically charged prosecution."

2024 presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy: "This will mark a dark moment in American history and will undermine public trust in our electoral system itself. I call on the Manhattan District Attorney to reconsider this action and to put aside partisan politics in service of preserving our Constitutional republic."

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer: "It's another example of a two-tiered system of justice."

Senator Josh Hawley: "The Democrats used the FBI against parents, they used the FBI against Catholics, they used Big Tech against vaccine critics & anyone who questioned them. Now they want to arrest Trump, their leading political opponent. They are the banana republic party"

Congresswoman Mary Miller: "In a democracy, the voters decide who will be their President through a free & fair election. In a corrupt banana republic, the state arrests their political opposition in order to hold onto power. It means they know they will lose the election because they've done a bad job."

Rep. Matt Gaetz: "The impending indictment is based on an untested, tortured legal theory.   This is an absurd abuse of the criminal process in our politics.   It must be seen for the partisan pathetic ploy it is."

Senator Steve Daines: Alvin Bragg "should focus on the violent criminals terrorizing New York instead of pursuing politically motivated charges against Donald Trump."

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene: "If the Manhattan DA indicts President Trump, he will ultimately win even bigger than he is already going to win.   And those Republicans that stand by and cheer for his persecution or do nothing to stop it will be exposed to the people and will be remembered, scorned, and punished by the base.

President Trump did nothing wrong and has always fought for the American people, and we all know it, which is why we love him.  And any Republican who thinks the Democrats will stop this madness once Trump is out of the way is fooling themselves.

Weaponized Government and Political Persecution are new chapters in their playbook and they will use those methods against anyone who stands in their way.  And we are absolutely fed up with the two-tiered justice system or rather INJUSTICE system in America.

The base has had enough of Republicans that won’t stand up for the people and against the Democrats war against Trump, his admin, his supporters, and traditional values."

Rep. Cory Mills: "The recent announcement and blatant politically motivated targeting of Donald Trump  from NY’s AG Bragg is EXACTLY what Americans have come to expect. He’s shown his soft on crime, no bail reform policies for violent criminals, but targets a Fmr. President."

Rep. Russell Fry: "This is just unreal! The Left has ruthlessly tried to sideline President Trump since he first started fighting for the American people. This is just one more unprecedented and legally suspect attack against the President coming from a rogue DA furthering his own political agenda"

Former Congressman Peter King: "The only crime here is being committed by Alvin Bragg, who to me is abusing his duties, his rights, his obligations as a prosecutor."
