President Donald Trump is the clear favorite of South Carolina Republicans, according to a poll released Wednesday.
"Trump is riding high and doubling support over the next candidate in the field," Winthrop poll director Dr. Scott Huffmon said in a release. The Post and Courier's report on the poll noted, "Donald Trump starts out as the clear early favorite in South Carolina’s 2024 Republican presidential primary."

Trump 41 percent
DeSantis 20 percent
Haley 18 percent
Scott 7 percent
Pence 5 percent
Pompeo 2 percent
