Following fifteen rounds of votes, Kevin McCarthy was elected Speaker of the House of Representatives of the 118th Congress. Crucial concessions ensured that the American People are running the People’s House.
In the minutes following the vote, conservative insiders took to Twitter to reveal that President Trump played a key role in finalizing this deal.

Speaker McCarthy thanked President Trump for his support, adding that "I don't think anybody should doubt his influence."
Additionally, multiple members of the newly-sworn in 118th Congress made it clear that President Trump played the crucial role in this process since the beginning of December and up until the final hours of the vote.

After two years of humiliation and economic hardship inflicted by the Biden administration, the American People voted to hold the Washington D.C. machine accountable. While the Democrats marched in lockstep, Republican members-elect remained unafraid to voice the concerns of their constituents.
As a result of this healthy democratic process, not only is the Republican Party stronger, but the American People have their voice back in Congress.

President Trump’s “role was huge” in finalizing this deal, according to Marjorie Taylor Greene.
