The ratio jibes with an online survey of 1,000 Miami-Dade registered Republicans conducted Monday and Tuesday by Miami-based Public Communications Group, which primarily works for Democrats.
Trump beats DeSantis 74-26% in a head-to-head matchup, according to the poll exclusively shared with The Messenger. In the crowded primary, the poll shows, Trump’s support slightly dips to 69% and DeSantis tumbles to 19%, with all other candidates mired in single digits.

Evan Ross, the consultant who conducted the Miami-Dade GOP poll showing Trump dominating DeSantis, said the survey underscores how the former president is more responsible for the shifts in Miami-Dade than the governor. The survey shows Trump runs strongest with Hispanic GOP voters and has higher favorability ratings than DeSantis.
"Ever since he ran for governor, Ron DeSantis's support has been on loan from Donald Trump and his base," Ross said.
