On this Day in History: The Anniversary of Trump's Border Wall Executive Order

Six years ago today, President Trump signed Executive Order 13767 calling for the construction of a physical wall along the southern border.

The Trump administration successfully completed 450 miles of new border walls, which secured our border. Department of Homeland Security statistics show that in Yuma, Arizona, areas with a new border wall system saw a decrese in illegal entries by 87 percent.

DHS also noted that the "El Paso Sector has experienced a significant reduction in drug and smuggling activities in areas where the new border wall system was built."

Shortly after entering office, Biden revoked Trump's executive order and halted border wall construction. Former Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan said, "With the stroke of a pen, President Biden made this country less safe."
